Am I Gone Johnson?

"Yes I Am"

The Artist

BRONX BORN, JAMAICAN RAISED GONE JOHNSON, IS ONE OF THE MOST UNDER RATED (AND STILL UNSIGNED) UNDERGROUND ARTIST THAT RESIDE IN "THE CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS." MANY HERE THERE ARE; BUT YET, GONE JOHNSON HAS COME A LONG WAY. WITH MUSIC EXPERIENCE IN GONE'S BACKGROUND, IT'S NO SURPRISE THAT THE FIRST SONGS YOU HEAR WILL SOUND LIKE HE HAS BEEN DOING IT SINCE THE DEVIL WAS A BOY. "IT SOUNDS SO EASY FOR HIM TO MAKE ME BOB MY HEAD AND RECITE WITH HIM." SAYS GARY KRATES, LOCAL HIP HOP PRODUCER. GONE JOHNSON HAS WORKED WITH UNDERGROUND & INDEPENDENT LABELS ON THEIR ARTISTS, WRITING SONGS FOR R&B VOCALISTS, REGGAE ARTIST, AS WELL AS RAPPERS. ALTHOUGH NONE OF HIS WORK WAS BROUGHT INTO THE MAINSTREAM, AND HE NEVER RECEIVED HIS DUE CREDIT FOR NUMEROUS SONGS, THE EXPERIENCES AND KNOWLEDGE WAS MORE THAN ENOUGH. TAKING EVERY CHANCE HE GETS TO GRAB AN EAR, HE HAS A LONG LIST OF COLLABORATIONS WITH MANY LOCAL ARTIST ACROSS AMERICA, FROM TEXAS RAPPER "YUNG STREET" BX RAPPER "HUSTLE BELVY" TO DELAWARE R&B ARTIST "POIN DEXTER". HAVING SHARED THE STAGE WITH SHYHEIM, (FORMERLY OF WU-TANG) LOADED LUXX, (106 AND PARK CHAMP) E6, (MTV'S FROM G'S TO GENTS) AND OTHER BUDDING STARS, HIS STAGE PERFORMANCE IS VERY SOLID. HIS SONG WRITING SKILL IS ONLY MATCHED BY HIS IMAGINATION WHICH HE NEVER HOLDS BACK, YOU CAN HEAR IT WHEN HE SPEAKS THAT HE HAS A VERY CLEAR PICTURE OF WHAT HE IS SAYING, AND HE REALLY WANTS TO TAKE YOU THERE. WITH THE SONGS HE MAKES, AND THE WAY HE SOUNDS ONLY GETTING BETTER, IT MAKES SENSE TO KEEP AN EYE ON HIM NOW AND IN THE (NEAR) FUTURE.

The Man

WORDS FROM THE MAN HIMSELF:

"All of my music is either concept song; varying from the verses starting and ending a certain way, a certain subject, a certain rhyme scheme, or a story. I'm very lyrical, and I love playing with words so I may go over your head sometimes, but I always make sense, also you might not know what I'm taking about at all, because I speak on real subjects, for instance on "streets of barker", a song about my neighborhood and the things that went on....the average person wouldn't have a clue of what I'm talking about. At the same time it turns out people not even from my hood is feeling it. I don't hold my tongue, I speak very bluntly on the way I feel about everything in general. I hear all the time that I should watch what I say if I'm trying to get a "deal", but that's not my MAIN goal, it is a goal I mean, even the twisted ass parent that raised the joker said "if you do something good, get paid for it." But I love this, I wanna hopefully turn this into a life long career but I'm just not your average rapper, and it seems like that is what's in demand. Maybe when a new generation of lyricist take over and start getting appreciated, I'll be one."
